Taj Gleitsman

Taj Rodriguez Gleitsman, born June 9, 2006, in Santa Cruz, California, is an American trampoline and double mini trampoline gymnast currently based in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he trains at Wasatch Trampoline and Tumbling and studies Kinesiology at the University of Utah. He grew up in Corralitos, near Aptos, California, and graduated from Aptos High School in 2024. His entry into gymnastics came naturally — his father Ryan Rodriguez-Gleitsman is a professional breakdancer and America's Got Talent semi-finalist who practiced acrobatics on a backyard trampoline, while his mother Kyla also dances professionally. His sister Teala is a competitive dancer and tumbler. Taj began gymnastics training in 2018 at Vargas Academy of Gymnastic Arts in Scotts Valley under coach Vernon Vargas, rapidly progressing through the junior ranks. At the 2022 USA Gymnastics Tumbling and Trampoline National Championships in Des Moines, he placed second in junior individual trampoline and third in double mini, earning selection to the USA Gymnastics National Team — a recognition he described as a complete surprise. He has since relocated to Utah and joined Wasatch Trampoline and Tumbling under coach Sven, competing at the senior national level in both trampoline and double mini. He was selected for the 2025 FIG World Age Group Competitions in Pamplona, Spain, competing in the 17-21 division across both disciplines. A versatile all-terrain athlete whose hobbies include skateboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding and surfing, Gleitsman embodies the spirit of action sports as much as competitive gymnastics. His goal is to reach the FIG World Championships at senior level.
