David Vega is a Spanish trampoline gymnast born on 4 August 1998 in Barcelona, Catalonia. He trains at Associació Sant Martí Esport in Barcelona under national coach Guillermo Villa, and holds a degree in Sports Science from the University of Barcelona. He speaks both Spanish and English. Vega began trampoline gymnastics at the age of nine, inspired by watching his cousin compete. He made his World Championships debut in 2015, finishing 109th, and spent the following years steadily building his competitive level on the international FIG circuit. After placing 43rd at the 2019 Worlds and progressing consistently through the post-pandemic cycle, he reached a turning point in 2023 when he contributed to Spain's silver medal in the team trampoline event at the World Championships in Birmingham, the country's first-ever team medal at that level. In 2024, David Vega made history as the first male Spanish trampolinist to qualify for the Olympic Games, securing his quota spot through the 2023–24 FIG World Cup series. He competed at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, finishing 14th in the qualifying round. That same year, he won a bronze medal with the Spanish men's team at the European Championships in Guimarães, Portugal.nnIn November 2025, he competed at the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Pamplona, Spain — his home World Championships — representing both the individual discipline and, for the first time, the new mixed synchronised trampoline event alongside his partner, fellow Spanish Olympian Noemí Romero Rosario. David also works as a fitness coach at a municipal sports centre in Barcelona.
